When we were in Colorado, Nancy said that she was going to work on a DVD for Grandparents BY Grandparents of kids with RAD. I think this is a fantastic idea!!! It must be so hard for grandparents to juggle being grandparents, yet being therapeutic. With these kiddos - being therapeutic and in 100% support of the parents and family unit MUST be Number One! We look forward to having access to this new DVD to share with others!
Of course - we have a grandparent who is a member on the site, Carol, whom one could likely have speak with other grandparents if they felt that would provide them with some support for their own families! Give it a try via private message?!
Another tool already available is the book Dandelion on My Pillow, Butcher Knife Beneath by Nancy, Terena and Beth Thomas, and the new DVD she has out, "More Than a Thread of a Hope" which contains the HBO program "Child of Rage" featuring Beth Thomas at 6 years old, and then a DVD with Beth now, as a successful nurse... Check these things out - buy and loan to your family members!
