Yesterday was backwards day! What fun...
The only purpose was for us to maintain our sense of humour around our son (and sanity) and to knock him off of acting strangely by doing much the same thing.
It went like this:
We woke darling son up in the morning and asked him what he was doing in bed already, that we hadn't told him it was time to hop into bed!
We then told him to change back out of pj's and into clothes as it wasn't quite time to put pj's on yet...
Then we did last pee of the night and toothbrushing...
We went out to feed the animals their "supper", and turned them outside to enjoy the "moonlight", despite his protests that it was sunshine.
Now - by the time we were heading out the door, Mr. Intuitive said, at 6.5yrs old, "We are moving backwards today because I've been moving backwards!!!"...we smiled and shrugged this off with the usual humour...
After the critters, we came in and had "supper" and fed the dogs "supper", they got less (as they usually do at breakfast) because they had had so much to eat for breakfast
Then came normal chores and daily things, then bedttime bath, then lunch...
Then in the afternoon we went out to do the barn chores and we remarked how wonderful it was to get them done first thing in the morning so we don't have to worry about them all day,
Finished with "breakfast" for ourselves and the dogs, morning pee instead of last pee before bed, and told him maybe we should do something really strange like pop him back into bed first thing in the morning instead of having him get dressed.
It was a fun way to jolt our son out of stubborn mode and he sure has been pleasant today.
Sometimes - you truly have to disturb the disturbed, but in a fun way!
Take care!
